A new theatre show based on a performance about high performance living is to debut in Norwich.
TV presenter Jake Humphrey and psychologist Prof Damian Hughes have turned their High Performance podcast, which features stories of successful people from sport, business, and entertainment into a stage show that will take a nine-date tour across the country.
The show is being co-produced by Norwich Theatre, with the debut show at the Theatre Royal venue on Sunday, 5 February.
It will then tour across the UK visiting London, Nottingham, Oxford, Northampton, Glasgow, Guildford, Leeds, and Salford.
The Norwich show will include guest appearances from musician Kye Sones and psychotherapist Owen O’Kane. Kye appeared on X Factor in 2012 co-wrote the Becky Hill and David Guetta smash hit Remember. Owen O’Kane is the author of Ten Times Happier and the Sunday Times bestselling book, Ten to Zen.
They will also be joined by Norwich-based High Performance podcast fan Megan Smith. During the show, Megan will share her story, how she navigated the return to ‘normal’ life after a cancer diagnosis, and how high performance for her is finding strength during the challenging moments.
Megan is a Norwich City supporter and coached Cringleford FC when she was just 16. During university, Megan worked at Chelsea Football Club part-time, including coaching in the Girls Academy. In October 2021, Megan found a lump on her thyroid but is now back to her role as a sports consultant full-time.
Jake Humphrey said: “For our opening night to be in Norwich – my home city – where my journey began, is the biggest thrill of all. Walking out on the stage of the Theatre Royal will be surreal for me but I can’t wait for the fine people of the fine city of Norwich to be the first to see the show that we have created with the amazing team at Norwich Theatre.”
