The winners of a youth writing competition will see their story illustrated and showcased in a prominent Norwich city centre shop window.
As part of the lead up to the 250th anniversary of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival in 2022, writers aged 14 to 25 are being invited to write a 1000-word piece on the theme of ‘the passing of time’. The piece can be fiction or non-fiction.
Three winners will be selected by a judging panel made up of Festival artistic director Daniel Brine, creative writing experts from the University of East Anglia, and booksellers from The Book Hive bookshop in Norwich
The winning entries will be showcased through especially created artwork by illustration students from Norwich University of the Arts and displayed in The Book Hive window on London Street during the Norfolk & Norwich Festival in May 2020.
The deadline for submission is Friday, December 13. Schools interested in helping their students take part can book free writing boot camps covering both the writing challenge and GCSE and A Level exam texts.
