Norwich’s Theatre Royal has added a Jason Donovan date to its new season – just one day after unveiling the main programme.
The Neighbours superstar turned musical theatre performer will come to the theatre in September 2020 on the third night of his UK tour, promising a night packed with song.
He’ll also be back in the region later in the year with dates at Regent Theatre, Ipswich and King Lynn Corn Exchange in November 2020, with the final night of the tour at Cambridge Corn Exchange in December 2020.
Other music acts coming to Norwich as part of the Theatre Royal’s 2020 line-up include Fisher Stevens’ A Beautiful Noise featuring the music of Neil Diamond, and the return of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.
Musicals include Everybody’s Talking About Jamie – starring Shane Richie and Layton Williams – in June, and a tour date for SIX The Musical, which debuted at the Norwich Playhouse in 2018 before transferring to the West End.
Drama aficionados can enjoy Jennifer Saunders in Blithe Spirit in February; the Olivier Award-winning production of A Monster Calls in April; and Harold Pinter’s iconic The Birthday Party in May.
Birmingham Royal Ballet make a first visit to Norwich with their version of Peter And The Wolf in July, following on from the English Youth Ballet’s classic production of Swan Lake the previous month.
