Arts and circus skill workshops will be beamed online in place of this year’s Norwich’s Lord Mayor’s Celebration.
The annual event – originally planned for this Saturday, July 4 – usually consists of a weekend of street performance, family events, and a carnival procession, but has been forced online by Covid-19.
Instead, organisers Norwich City Council are hosting a day of workshop on their Facebook page, featuring Norwich Puppet Theatre and circus group Lost In Translation.
The day will be rounded off with a remote Pirate Party broadcast on Future Radio, a reference to a pirate-themed float that has been part of the parade for a decade.
