Theatres across the UK have gone dark after being ordered by the Government to close to help combat coronavirus.
The move will see thousands of productions cancelled and postponed, as large public gatherings are outlawed.
The Government had already advised the public to avoid social gatherings in places like pubs, cinemas, and theatres but had stopped short of telling venues they had to shut.
However, many had already voluntarily closed to protect staff, performers, and audience members from catching the virus.
It remains unclear how long venues will remain verboten, or what support will be available to help with the financial impact of the lockdown measures.
