The testimonies of Latin American refugees were the inspiration for a theatre show that mixes science, music, and visuals and is coming to Norwich next week.
REWIND invites you to witness the investigation of a crime, which slowly reveals the identity of Alicia – a woman who dared to resist against authoritarianism.
The show combines the science behind forensic anthropology with fact-based stories of resistance, to create an emotional and atmospheric experience evoked by vibrant physical theatre, powerful live music and striking visuals.
Produced by Ephemeral Ensemble, the piece is inspired by testimonies of refugees whose lives were affected by dictatorship in the 1970s in Latin America and young adult migrants whose lives have been affected by human rights abuse in Latin America in 2019-2021.
Forensic anthropology techniques were used to investigate the historic disappearance during periods of military dictatorship, with the analysis of injuries on bones leading to a revolution in human rights are investigated.
Following a successful run at the 2023 Edinburgh Festival the show has been on a national tour, finishing with a performance in Norwich on Saturday, June 15 at 8pm.
- REWIND is at Norwich Theatre Stage Two on Saturday, June 15 at 8pm; tickets £15.
