There’s something surprisingly, undeservedly, meek about Sara Pascoe.
She has a sharp intelligence and has crafted some devastatingly funny material for her current show, Sara Pascoe vs History, but there’s something about her demeanour that suggests she believes she’s on the losing side: and she really isn’t.
Touching on her childhood, Sigmund Freud’s terror of female sexuality, and the untold story of kamikaze sperm this is a varied and engaging show.
She jokes that she is the end of evolution; not quite, but it’s done an great job getting this far.
A little more confidence in her own – and her audience’s – ability would take her even further.
