This adults only, late-night branch of Norwich’s Circus 250 celebrations is a rambunctious and infectious mix of circus, modern burlesque, and comedy.
MC Abigail Collins sets the tone from the off, combining cheap smut with sharp, witty, and multi-lingual gags. Her delivery is quick, assured, and delicious, with top-notch audience interaction.
Local performers include Fern Carpenter and Natasha Rushbrooke, impressing on the silks and elevated handstands respectively, while other acts hail from as far as Germany and Columbia.
Organisers Lost In Translation Circus’ own Annabel Carberry steals the show though: she takes the simple concept of drinking a glass of wine while hula-hooping and expands it to a comic masterpiece, with captivating characterisation and physicality.
The line up is completed by two slots from modern burlesque act Vendetta Vain, combining nudity and trapeze in a fashion you won’t forget in hurry.
