Five-piece psychedelic rock outfit Floral Image bought a night of Norfolk music in the Spiegeltent to a frenzied end.
Hosted by BBC Introducing the gig featured a diverse range of acts from the county that have previously featured in the corporation’s new music strand.
The Norfolk and Norwich Festival gig was opened by hip hop and rap artist W3st, who gradually relaxed into the night till the point he was clearly enjoying himself and bringing the crowd with him with some vocal interactions in his final track.
Norwich-based Isamya was next up, with the R&B vocalist showing great confidence despite only releasing her first single in January 2023. She showed good vocal range and a winning stage presence.
Former BBC Introducing presenter Kitty Perrin switched sides and took to the stage as a performer for the third act, with a series of melodic, lyric-driven songs, with a three-piece backing band.
But the highlight of the night was Floral Image, replete with hyperactive bassist and the first stage diver I’ve ever seen at the Spiegeltent.
A great showcase for the range of talent in Norfolk.
- Music from the concert can be heard on BBC Radio Norfolk and BBC Radio Suffolk on Thursday 23 May 2024 from 8pm, and online.
